The Life of Chris Grigorian in the Poker World

Poker professional Johnny Chan is known by the nickname "Orient Express." Well, if he is the "Orient Express" of the poker industry, poker professional Chris Grigorian is the "Armenian Express" of the poker world. We may not know a lot about the personal life of Chris Grigorian. Or to put it in a different way, we actually do not know a lot about the life of this person outside the world of professional poker. But then, does it still matter? With his success in the poker industry, it does not seem significant anymore that we do not know that much about him. It is enough that he is known as a masterful poker professional.

We do not really know if Chris Grigorian is more of a cash game player than a tournament player. But what we know of is the fact that he is more successful in playing cash games. A couple of his achievements in money games include winning the grand prize of US$32,760 in the US$500 Seven-Card Stud Event conducted during the 2004 Los Angeles Poker Classic and winning grand prize of US$44,505 in the US$500 Limit Hold'em Championship game conducted during the 2004 Orleans Open.

In most cases, Chris Grigorian is more effective as a hold'em player. Most of his achievements include winning in hold'em events, and he has always been recognized for such skill because hold'em is considered as one of the most, if not the most, difficult types of poker games. However, when he won at the Los Angeles Poker Classic in 2004, it became one of his notable successes because the game he played was a seven-card stud game. The poker player that he defeated during the head-to-head situation was Jaime Perez.

A resident of Panorama City, California, Chris Grigorian is known to have always been one of the successful poker professionals of the world. Since the 1990s, his name has always been included in the list of poker professionals who have admirable poker skills. The first notable poker play of Chris Grigorian was when he placed seventh at the California State Poker Championship that was held on June 2, 1998. He was still somewhat a newbie at that time but he was already showing impressive skills. The amount that Chris Grigorian took home from such victory was US$1,608.

On January 16, 2000, Chris Grigorian was once again recognized for being the fourth placer in a limit hold'em game held during the Carnival of Poker tournament, where he won US$15,275.

In the same month and year, he also emerged successful in his participation in a limit razz game at the Classic Stud Weekend tournament.

Chris Grigorian may not win first place most of the time. Nonetheless, he has the ability to always reach the final table of most of the poker games he participates in, and that is a characteristic of a successful professional poker player.
